5 Top Summer Buys
It seems like we’re starting to see the first signs of summer in the UK with temperatures starting to creep up, so get in there early with a few key buys and you won’t be left stumped when the season hits (and we hope it shows itself more often soon!). I’ve been picking up a few bits here and there, mainly with my honeymoon in mind, and love the excitement of thinking about how, where and when I’m going to be able to wear it all. With those pieces patiently waiting in the corner of my cupboard, we give you the heads up to the top buys for SS15. Narrowing it down to just 5 items was hard because, if you’re anything like us, let’s be honest it’s not just 5 things we’ll be buying this summer! However, here’s a little shopping list for you to kick start your new season’s wardrobe.
Sliders had their moment last year and now the lace-up sandal has swept in and taken the prize for shoe of the season (although don’t be too hasty in chucking out those slides, they’re still a key style for the season). Lace-ups are arguably a much more feminine shoe so you may be more tempted to buy into this trend, but if in doubt look no further than the gorgeous Chloe SS15 shoe for inspiration on how to wear them. There are so many great styles out there at the moment, and you don’t have to go spending a fortune either, the high street has some fantastic catwalk-inspired designs.

The throwback 70s look was seen at many of the SS15 shows and along with denim it was suede that stood out as the key fabric for summer. Jackets, tops, skirts; there’s a suede style to suit everyone. We’ll be wearing our suede skirts with a pretty pussy bow blouse and those denim flares (another must-have for summer) with a boxy suede jacket and simple tee.

We are loving an easy wearing, boho top at the moment, the easiest way to update a pair of jeans and a great buy for holidays too. They are as easy as a breton stripe and give an instant 70s update to your look, perfect for SS15.

They are so high up on our list for this season that we’ve already got ours. Whether you opt for long, short, jumpsuit or boilersuit, the all in one is here to stay. Perfect for nights out on holiday and super comfortable to wear when you’re running around at home. They are just as easy as throwing on a dress but tick many more style boxes. We love them.

Now don’t be scared off, bare with us. White jeans are fast becoming our summer style staple and you’ll want to be in on the act too. They are surprisingly versatile and oh so effortlessly cool. Opt for a looser fit like a low slung, boyfriend style, and pair with espadrilles for day and a pointed toe court shoe for night.
