Winter Wardrobe necessities

The days are still short and now the snow decides the fall. Now that the hustle + bustle of the Christmas season has come to a sudden halt we’re ready for a glimpse of sunshine to mirror that pristine + fresh feeling that a new year brings, when in fact, winter’s only just begun. So we decided it’s time to suggest some winter wardrobe necessities to keep you looking simply stylish when, let’s be honest, all we want to do is grab our coziest chunky knit and curl up in a ball somewhere warm. Am I right?

Winter closet necessities

ONE | Layer, layer, layer. It’s the easiest way to ensure you stay warm out doors and cool enough in the heat indoors. It also allows you to freedom to mix and match different fabrics and colours to add more depth to your style. Click here to shop this look.

TWO | Throw in some fun statement pieces. Play around with fun accessories to make your basic pieces “pop”. Although I tend to consider leopard prints a neutral it’s a great go-to piece to give your outfit that something extra. Click here to shop this look. (Every gal needs a pair of go-to leopards and these just happen to be less than $50!)

THREE | Mix it up. Never be afraid to mix up fabrics and patterns, it’s totally acceptable and on trend this season. You can start by pairing a cotton tee with leather trousers or even a tweed skirt with a silk blouse for a more sophisticated look. Click here to shop this look.

FOUR | Invest in your basics. We all know that every wardrobe should have a go-to LBD, but we often forget that a closet also needs the perfect plain white tee. When you ensure that you have your basics it makes your closet much more versatile because all you’ll need to do is find a well paired accessory to take that look into the next changing season. FIVE | Let your lips say it all. Take the look from gloom to bloom with a lip that pops. After Christmas I let go of the red and add in a pop of pink. Nothing says “give me sunshine” like a pretty pink pout. Click here to shop this look.
